X Socks Run Energizer
X Socks Run Energizer
Gradual
compression combats gravity, accelerating venous return or the flow of
blood back to the heart. This improves blood circulation and nutrient
supply, relieves the strain on the cardiovascular system and lowers the
pulse rate. The energy this saves is available to you as an additional
reserve during physical exertion. In addition, the gradual compression,
generated by our Smart Compression Zone improves regeneration and
reduces the risk of thrombosis. With a refined system of protectors and
cushions, the Run Energizer socks give your feet 13-way protection. The
ventilation system with the patented AirConditioning Channel® in
conjunction with the AirCool Stripes and the anatomical right/left
footbed, pumps warm, moist air out of the shoe with every step and sucks
in fresh air right under the sole. This keeps feet dry and therefore
resistant to blisters and chafing.

BROOKS T7 RACER
Chrissie Wellington calls the T7 "an amazing shoe!" She was rocking a pair when she came from behind on the run leg to win her fourth Ironman World Championship in Kona in 2011. Hansons-Brooks athlete Desiree Davila also races in the T7 and wore it during this year's Boston marathon as she became the third fastest U.S. female marathoner ever.
This incredibly light road-racing shoe is the fastest in the pack, with a new eye-catching upper for fly-by style. The streamlined, asymmetric upper works with the anatomy of the foot to perfectly wrap the arch securely from start to finish. The Hyper Pod sole design ensures the highest possible degree of flexibility for every athlete
- Color: nightlife/ silver/ black/ white
- Weight: 184 g
- Available online or in-store now.
Note: As this shoe is a very lightweight, minimal support racing flat, the vast majority of runners will not find it "enough shoe" for a full marathon. If you have a light frame and a biomechanically efficient stride, however, you may be able to get away with it. We suggest you work up to it in several half marathon-plus races beforehand to see how it works for you before running in it for a full marathon.

Cardiac Risk
England Athletics, UKA and the other home country governing bodies are alert to our responsibilities to all participants in athletics in respect of all aspects of health and safety. One particular area that young athletes and their parents must be aware of is the risk of cardiac problems.
There have been instances of young athletes suffering potentially fatal heart conditions without being aware that they are at risk.
England Athletics would like to make you aware of a piece of work that has been undertaken by UKA. UKA has worked with Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) for several years, providing a screening service to athletes on the World Class Performance Programme. UKA and CRY are now seeking to encourage more athletes to use CRY’s screening service to help to identify any cardiac problems that may be otherwise hidden.
CRY is a charity that was established to raise awareness of conditions that can lead to the sudden cardiac death of young people. They operate a screening programme at a number of clinics around the UK and support this with mobile units that travel to other locations. Full information about CRY and their services can be found on their website at;
www.c-r-y.org.uk. Young people between the age of 14 and 35 who would like to have cardiac testing can go to www.testmyheart.org. You can also see www.uka.org.uk/governance/health-safety/cardiac-screening-for-athletes/ for information on work being done by UKA in this area.
